Resource Guide Plus

Resource Guide Plus was designed to be a searchable repository of publications and associated lesson plans. The application allowed educators to submit lessons, called "tips and tools", for use with existing publications. The interface provided a filter for audience and subject area.

Purdue University College of Science

2003 – 2005

College of Science

Web design and development projects for the administration offices of the College of Science included, but were not limited to, top tier pages for Science Administration, specific audience track sections (i.e., For Current Students, For Alumni & Friends, etc.), conferences, workshops, events, calendar, news, and an e-zine (top center).

City of Evanston

2000 – 2003

The first official web site for the City of Evanston included information on municipal offices, elected officials, and 13 departments including Police, Fire, Health, Public Works, Community Development, and Parks/Forestry & Recreation. The site also covered summer festivals, resident and business permits, news, and a calendar of meetings and events. The images provided here show the main page (top left) with its news, phone numbers, and location map, and a section page (bottom left) for City services.

National Weather Service

1998 – 2000

The National Weather Service (NWS) Chicago Forecast Office site was redesigned to incorporate the local forecast on the main page and an organized navigation on the left hand side. The navigation was divided into the following sections: Hazardous Weather, Local Weather, Rivers, Specialized Weather (i.e., marine, fire, aviation, winter) and Outreach/Education. The global NWS design now follows a similar structure.

WxCoder (Web Xmitted Cooperative Observer Data Encoded Report) was designed and introduced to the NWS to utilize the web in collecting weather observations from the volunteer network of Cooperative Observers. What started as a program for the local office is now used nationwide.

National Severe Storms Laboratory

1997 – 1998

The National Severe Storms Laboratory site was redesigned to include sections for targeted research areas such as tornadoes and thunderstorms.

VORTEX: Unraveling the Secrets was created as an educational site on the 1995 VORTEX field project to study the development of tornadoes. The site received “Best of the WWW” award within the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research.
